How to Replace a Faulty Window Switch?
Required Tools: Long-nose pliers, Screwdriver (flat-head or Phillips-head).
Step 1:
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent short circuit.
- Remove the car door panel to access the switch.
- Disconnect all electric wiring (e.g., stereo speakers, power mirrors).
- Unclip handles and lift the faulty switch from its harness.
Step 2:
- If preferred, pry under the switch bezel using a flat-head screwdriver to access the housing without removing the entire door panel.
Step 3:
- Once loosened, disconnect the switch from the wire harness and detach it from the outlet.
Step 4:
- Remove rockers from the old switch and install them in the new switch.
- Snap the switch into the bezel.
- Turn on the engine and test functionality.
- Reconnect all wiring and reassemble the door panel and handle.
